Italian Film: 'Baaria'

Today I thought I'd share a really beautiful Italian film I recently watched: Baaria
It was nominated for a Golden Globe and is the story of the Silicilan town of Bagheria, also know as Baaria.
"Written and directed by Acadamy Award winner Giuseppe Tornatore. The story follows Peppino Torrenuova (Francesco Scianna) from his childhood as a high-spirited cowherd's son in the '30s, to his forbidden romance and marriage to the beautiful Mannina (Margareth Madè) through a turbulent time of Italian political upheaval.
BAARÌA is a humorous and often heartbreaking tale set against the backdrop of a vibrant Sicilian town in the first half of the twentieth century."

The movie is  romantic, funny and even comical throughout many parts, beautifully made, and overall very interesting.  (Just a heads up - there are two short violent scenes in the film; one involving a cow and another of a man being shot.) Like many Italian sagas, it runs about 3 hours. Baaria's captivating story which spans 3 generations, its beautiful music, and romance alone make this film worth watching-especially if you are looking for something unique.

Shearling and Aviation Jackets are a huge trend for fall as ads and editorials featuring the sought after Burberry jacket grace every magazine, blog, and fashion lover's wishlist. My favorite way to wear these jackets is with a dress. Here are some of my favorite aviation jacket / dress pairings, editorials, and a few budget friendly options.

This whole look by Eddie Bauer is incredible; the Leather Aviator Jacket, Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, and slim olive cargos.

Pairing your new shearling /aviation jacket with a dress is also a great way to wear some summer dresses into fall. The jacket makes the dress edgy and fall ready, while the dress keeps the jacket feminine.

And when the weather gets cold just throw on some leggings underneath your dress (like the H&M ad).

Fall's Classic Revival, Channeling Sophia Loren, and Faux Bobs

My favorite fall editorial thus far is Catherine McNeil for Vogue Australia September - the beautifully feminine pieces (including by beloved Louis Vuitton), Sophia Loren inspired makeup, glamorous poses, and an equally glamorous bob.

These are two really fantastic tutorials that everyone ought to try. The Faux bob is a wonderful way to be spontaneous and try on a new look without committing to a serious hairstyle change. Pair it with the 60s inspired winged eyeliner, and you'll get an incredibly easy, incredibly glamorous look!
