Sapphire Rain: the romance of rain in sapphire and gold

Oh lovely raindrops…

Inspired by the lovely rain, here is my newest piece: Sapphire Rain.

Made with teardrop-shaped glass pearls, delicately drapped from a rich gold plated chain; creating the appearance of gently dangling sapphire raindrops.

Can be worn with a cocktail dress for a rich romantic look, feminine dress with a belt, your favorite blouse, or even a grey t-shirt and jeans. Shown here with a J.Crew Painter Tee:

I love the combination of demure grey and rich sapphire and gold. The color scheme reminds me of the painting Late Afternoon Rain by David Farren.

Perfect for evening, or everyday. Stricking over black.

Another one of my favorite photos reflecting the art of rain: Rainy Paris by deadst4r
Both romantic and distant.

High quality Gold plated chain and components, sapphire raindrop-shaped glass pearl;
32 inches long.
Available on etsy for $50.

Another one of my favorite paintings: Bourboun Street by MichaelFlohr

Enoy the rain whenever you can because you shall miss it when its gone. :)

Fall 2009 Favorite Line: Elie Tahari

Elie Tahari's Fall 2009 line is simply gorgeous. Most of the pieces are actually one-piece dresses but create the illusion of high waisted pencil skirts, exotic blouses, colored tights with sheen, fabric belts, and long draping necklaces - there isn't anything about this line that I don't love...

Top 4 Little Black Dresses of Fall 2009

Top 4 Little Black Dress Looks from the Fall 2009 Runway.
Douglas Hannant

Embroidered Polka dot Illusion neckline:
Collette Dinnigan:
A breathtaking take on the illusion neckline with a lace art deco twist. Is it just me or does the material actually glisten?!!Okay so this is really a pencil skirt and a blouse but it has the shock value as a LBD. The beaded shell/clam lapels are swoon-worthy.

All these LBDs are worn with sheer black tights which is a great new pairing for any LBD you already own. Black sheer tights give the dresses a new level of chic.

Fall 09 Look of the Day: Belted Dresses

Look of the Day: Belted Dresses.

Wide belts work great for flowly dresses, giving them shape.

Oscar de La Renta 2010:
Sophie Theallet 2010:
Summer - Fall Transition: Here's your last chance to wear some of those summer dresses! Toss aside those flip flops and put on some heels, throw on a belt and a caridigan like Megan fox and Leighton Meester. The belt adds shape and gives the dress an edge. Choose a belt and cardigan color that brings out the fall hues of the dress. A gray or black cardigan can work wonders- smoothing out even the strongest summer colors; making them more fall wearable.

Megan Fox:

Leighton Meester

For Fall grays, try a colorful belt - it takes away the sometimes 'aging' or 'dull' effect gray dresses can sometimes have and brings the look to life.

E.Y. Wada

My Belt Pick: Anthropologie's Grand Proportions Belt:

From Anthropologie's Website: Wide leather, bold brass and oversized stitches add larger-than-life character to this stretchy cincher. 3 inches wide. $68

Fall 2009 Must Have: Shiny and Metallic Tights

Shiny and Metallic tights are all over the runways this Fall. They bring a combination of edge and sophistication to pencil skirts, cocktail dresses, and LBDs.

Chanel - gold:

Gold isn't wearable for every occasion but bronze and smoke would look incredible with a simple flowly dress of a simliar color. My favorite pairing: pencil skirts and shiny tights.
Anne Valerie - bronze:

Jenny Packham - Smoke

Collette Dinnigan -black:
