Luck (and glamour!) of the Irish..

St. Patti's is one of our all time favorite holidays, especially here is Chicago where river dying, Irish coffee, parades, and posing for photos with police horses are all apart of a rich, well celebrated tradition. But as far as fashion goes, the attire is predominately dictated by whatever green tack the street sellers are offering. So if you find that you'd like to take things up a notch this year, here is an abundance of green glamour...

...Love Letters, Tea Dresses, and the 1940s..

Although the 1940s were a difficult time with war, separation and rations,- the love letters and fashion we attribute to that time make it feel so much more of a romantic era. It was a time where women were feminine and even in a time of war found a way to look simply incredible. This fall season the tea dresses, ankle straps, prints, and peter pan collars of the 40s have all made reappearances on the runway from designers like Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton,... and we couldn't be happier.

ASOS Bird Print 40's Tea Dress - $87.80

The 1940s silhouette was semi form fitting and hit below the knee /midi, a combination that when paired with heals created an incredible figure flattering look, that was kept interesting with collars, accessories and prints.. I especially love the bird prints.
You can wear any of these looks with colored tights all through the winter or pair it with a shearling jacket or camel colored coat.
Have a lovely day everyone!

A Return to Classics: Black and White

Whenever I get sick of season (cough...winter) I return to the classics.. black and white. The classic combo is always in season and ultra flattering. Luckily, black and white for the Resort and Spring seasons are rich with ornate detail, tailoring, followed by more detail. They aren't your average black and white dresses with underachieving colorblock and average 'graphic' prints. So here are some gorgeous Black and White looks from Resort and Spring lines. Enjoy!

Romantic September Transition Pieces

September for me, is all about change; change in the weather and scenery, cool breezes of wind, crisp mornings, and the occasional rain. What better way to celebrate the bridge between summer and fall than to incorporate romantic vintage-inspired transition pieces.
Modern day cloche hat - Olivia Palermo ASOS Magazine
I saw this picture back in June on The Satorialist and there isn't one thing I don't love about it; the cloche hat, the lovely pleated dress, the chic picnic style and her laugh.
Combination of gold, natural wood, and rich downward hanging flowers transitions summer clothes to fall, and keeps otherwise dry and dark fall looks bright. I'll be wearing this all through November.
Anthropologie Biloba Necklace

24K Myosotis Dress -Anna Sui for Anthropologie
This romantic dress is quintessential Anna Sui; ruffles, micro floral print, and more ruffles The natural color of the dress makes it wearable all through fall. Pair it with a belt, a boyfriend blazer /or these Sam Edelman "Sawyer" Cutout Oxfords
J.Crew Galaxy Purse:

I love this fashion editorial for WWD Beauty Biz featuring Olga Maliouk.
Her billowy bow front blouses are right on trend and her rich pink and gold eye makeup proves that you don't need always need a smokey eye to look sultry and romantic.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
