Lastly, I saw this Ukranian/Russian Christmas special on Chicago TV a few years ago and although I didn't understand one word of it I loved the girl's fashionable take on traditional Ukranian/ Russian clothes. Her multistrand pink necklace, headband with flowers and ribbon, braids.. her whole look. So with the help of google translate I was able to find a video! Here is Ani Lorak (I believe she is a famous Ukranian singer) in "Вечера на хуторе близ Диканьки" which translates to 'Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka.'

I hope you guys like it- I love fashion from other cultures..
Happy Holidays Everyone! Stay warm :)

September's Sapphires

Being that it is still September and that Sapphire is the birthstone for this month here is a lovely collection of September's most inspiring Sapphires:
Natalia Vodianova by Vincent Peters

ASOS Bias Cut Dipped Hem Tea Dress
What captivates me about this dress is how it moves as you walk: Watch the runway video of the dress HERE

Instyle Makeover Piper Perabo, perfect combination of shimmer and comfort- perfect for a September day.

Ruby Mines Sapphire Rain Pearl and 14K Gold Necklace available HERE

Anthropologie Capri Blue Volcano Candles
Lapis Lazuli Stone Ring by Billy Bride

Macaroons with Turkish Coffee (Martha Stewart Mag)

I hope you enjoyed these rich sapphire hues and find some inspiration in the rich blues. For me navy and sapphire are my go to colors- I adore little navy dresses as an intriguing and modern alternative to the LBD. Have a lovely week everyone! And be sure to take some time to enjoy the changing weather around you. :)

Romantic September Transition Pieces

September for me, is all about change; change in the weather and scenery, cool breezes of wind, crisp mornings, and the occasional rain. What better way to celebrate the bridge between summer and fall than to incorporate romantic vintage-inspired transition pieces.
Modern day cloche hat - Olivia Palermo ASOS Magazine
I saw this picture back in June on The Satorialist and there isn't one thing I don't love about it; the cloche hat, the lovely pleated dress, the chic picnic style and her laugh.
Combination of gold, natural wood, and rich downward hanging flowers transitions summer clothes to fall, and keeps otherwise dry and dark fall looks bright. I'll be wearing this all through November.
Anthropologie Biloba Necklace

24K Myosotis Dress -Anna Sui for Anthropologie
This romantic dress is quintessential Anna Sui; ruffles, micro floral print, and more ruffles The natural color of the dress makes it wearable all through fall. Pair it with a belt, a boyfriend blazer /or these Sam Edelman "Sawyer" Cutout Oxfords
J.Crew Galaxy Purse:

I love this fashion editorial for WWD Beauty Biz featuring Olga Maliouk.
Her billowy bow front blouses are right on trend and her rich pink and gold eye makeup proves that you don't need always need a smokey eye to look sultry and romantic.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Viva Espana! A Fashionable Tribute to Spain

Congratulations to Spain for defeating the Netherlands to win the 2010 World Cup! Viva Espana!

I thought it was best to pay a fashionable tribute to Spain. A land and culture that have made many fabulous contributions to the world of fashion. The Spanish influence is about more than just flamenco, Spanish lace and Espadrilles, it is about passion, color, beauty and warmth.

Oh that Black and Gold Marchesa gown.. how many daydreams have I had of you...
